Lost photo: Maasai Mara as a storm rolls in

Mara

Every now and then, I enjoy going through old photo libraries looking for gems I missed. This one is particularly appropriate as I’ve been debating the merits of running away from the “system,” living off the grid in a utopia of simplicity.

Resting on the bottom of the sea

We both basically wanted a nap

A stingray relaxes on the bottom of the ocean. I also put my elbows down to kick back with him. I vividly remember leading this dive and being very excited when I found the ray for my divers.

How far would you swim off the drop off…

Pseudo wall at South Button

South Button is essentially a knob of rock sticking out of the ocean. Part of it features something of a drop-off that heads down far deeper than humans safely dive with needing decompression time.

It makes for fantastic diving, however, as there are cracks, semi-caves, overhangs and walls to dive along. And all harbor immense amounts of life.
